What kind of documents can I use to take the CAEC test?
To take the CAEC test, you must bring two valid forms of identification to the testing center.
The primary ID must be government-issued, not expired, and include your name, date of birth, photo, and signature.
Examples include:
- Passport
- Driver’s license or learner’s permit
- Canadian military ID
- Federal, provincial, or territorial-issued ID
- Indian or Métis status card
Canadian citizenship or permanent resident card
The secondary ID must also be valid (not expired) and show your name.
Examples include:
- Health card
- Birth certificate
- Immigration documents (such as a work permit, refugee protection papers, or confirmation of permanent residence)
Important:
If your documents are in a language other than English or French, you must provide a certified translation at your own expense.
If you have trouble providing two valid forms of ID, the testing center may work with the CAEC administrators to find an acceptable solution. However, this may cause delays, so it’s best to have the required documents ready.
Please note: Cansego offers CAEC prep to help you get ready for the test, but we are not involved in the testing process. All testing is handled through the official CAEC portal.
